Tuesday, April 11, 2023

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM ADT (Halifax GMT - 3 hours)
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM EDT (Eastern US & Ottawa GMT - 4 hours)

Get ready for the next session of our lunch-and-learn series! Here’s an opportunity to take a break from your workday to enhance your BA skillset and share your knowledge with fellow BAs. In our next Technique Boutique session, hosted by the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais, Palmetto, and Halifax Chapters, we will explore Root Cause Analysis.

When things go wrong, regardless of the industry, companies often look to business analysts to find the source of the problem. In carrying out their investigative work, BAs often utilize the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) technique to look beyond the symptoms and uncover the issue's true cause. RCA is applicable to various domains, including cybersecurity, data analysis, and healthcare.

Join us as Dr. Bhuvan Unhelkar takes an in-depth look at Root Cause Analysis and shares his tips for using this technique.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe various types of root causes of a business problem (or opportunity)
  • Learn the steps to follow when conducting Root Cause Analysis
  • Learn the combination of BA techniques that go with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Learn best practices to improve your use of this technique.
